KFI seems to have lost its originality with every actor striving for a Pan-India release. The formula for success now seems to be investing large amounts of money in cinematography to create a KGF-like feel, incorporating Ravi Basrur’s over-the-top background score, and adding sentimental mother figures, all to overhype the villains. The story, screenplay, and VFX quality are no longer given the same attention, as long as the film can attract audiences with a high budget and the promise of a Pan-India release. I had low expectations for R. Chandru, given his previous subpar filmography, but I am disappointed in Upendra’s involvement. It appears he has followed in Yash’s footsteps.
